About our programme
Happy, Healthy, Focused.
Welcome to GymSchool, where we believe in cultivating the superhero’s of tomorrow through our dynamic and progressive FUNdamental movements & gymnastic coaching programs for schools and community centres. Whether your child is taking their first steps into gymnastic movements or refining their advanced skills, we have a programme tailored to their needs, designed to inspire growth and enjoyment at every level!
A step-by-step Approach to Success
At GymSchool, we follow the philosophy of “slow to fast, simple to complex, static to dynamic.” This systematic approach ensures that every skill is mastered correctly and safely. Week by week, our students engage in purposeful practice, building a solid foundation for skilled movements that leave a lasting impact.
Programmes for Every Skill Level
Our three-tiered training programmes have been designed by Marie France who has over 25 years experience coaching gymnastics as a full time career since 1999 from beginner to high performance level, and published research on FUNdamental movement skills and gymnastics. The programme caters to students of ALL levels, fostering versatility in their movements. Newcomers embark on the beginner program, where they acquire essential FUNdamental movement skills. Those with prior experience can directly join the intermediate or advanced programs after a skill assessment. As students progress through our comprehensive training, they develop into well-rounded individuals with proficiency in various physical activities.
- Beginner Program: Focused on essential FUNdamental movement skills, perfect for newcomers taking their first steps.
- Intermediate Program: For those with prior experience, building on FUNdamental movements with more challenging skills and sequences.
- Advanced Program: Designed to refine and master complex gymnastics skills, fostering true versatility and confidence.
Celebrating Progression with Grade Awards
We recognise and celebrate every milestone! In the beginner programme our students progress through level 1, 2 & 3 grade certificates as they pass key FUNdamental movements with proficiency which include correct jumping & rolling techniques. Once they have passed the Level 3 certificate they move into the Intermediate programme which is made up of level 4,5 & 6 certificates. Each level represents key progressional skills. Our advanced programme consists of medal awards rather than certificates and celebrates the mastery of advanced skills such as front and back somersaults and handsprings.
These awards motivate students to push boundaries and achieve their personal best.
Developing Skills Systematically
Our programs are designed to help athletes systematically build and refine their skills, providing a clear progression pathway. Starting with FUNdamental movements of rolling, balancing, jumping & landing correctly. Moving to intermediate level skills of handstands, dive rolls, various cartwheel movements, walkover progressions, building confidence with strength challenges on bar and balance on beam work. Finishing with advanced level skills of springing off hands and feet in front and back somersaults and handsprings and learning how to connecting these advanced skills in movement sequences. With a focus on safety, and technical excellence, we ensure that every stage of learning lays a strong foundation for future success.

Term Training Summary
Guided by expert instructors, our athletes develop essential movement and gymnastic skills on fun equipment including inflatable air tracks, spring boards, balance beams and bars. Classes start with training rules, games and warm up activities, fostering camaraderie as they work together. After general warm ups are complete our athletes listen to the coach instruction and demonstrations of the various stations for the session. Children then break into their age based groups working through their specific training programme skills, spending upto ten minutes working on a station and then rotating around. Classes finish with a cool down activity and athlete of the week is presented before dispersal. For GymSchool Plus and regional hub classes our athletes spend more time focusing on skills and conditioning than the standard classes.
